Active School Flag

This year, in Scoil Chatríona, we are hoping to earn an Active School's Flag.

We have been working hard towards achieving this flag for over two years now.

This is an initiative set up by the Department of Education and Skills and is supported by Healthy Ireland. The Active School Flag is awarded to 'schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community.'

We are already a very active school but in order to earn a flag we have to first carry out a few steps.

Step 1: We had an election to form our Active School's Committee.

Step 2: We had a whole school competition to create our Active School Slogan.

Well Done Kajus!

Step 3: Our committee carried out a survey to figure out which clubs our school community were members of and they set up a suggestion box for Active School Ideas.

Step 3: As a school we had to evaluate and make improvements in the following areas; Physical Education, Physical Activity, Partnerships within the Sporting Community and Active School's week. Click the buttons below to see what we've done.
